TMAS Tuesday: Music Secrets

Speaking of secrets...music is a leitmotif in TELL ME A SECRET - not only musical theatre (Miranda's friend Essence loves Adelaide from Guys and Dolls), but also indie bands.

Xanda's favorite real-life band is Splashdown (which also happens to be mine!).

Our friends at Splashdown, Universal Hall Pass, and Symbion Project were kind enough to let us use their music for the trailer and TellMeASecretNovel.com...trailer is coming soon!

And lyrics from their song, "Presumed Lost," are featured in the book! Here are the full lyrics:

If they try to clip your wings
Fly away, far away
I know why the caged bird sings
I'll await my next escape to meet with you again
Only to meet with you again
My shadow's here to meet with me again

Ask my heart
If there's a place to be alone
Someone tell my head
There's a place to be alone by myself
Do these restless eyes
Tell you I have found a home for myself

If in tears you should awake
In Memory's arms
Withdraw embrace
Silent pools are gathering
Be still my dear, my shadow's here to meet with me again
Only to meet with me again
My shadow's here to meet with me again

Want to listen to the song? Here's a clip of it:

You can find Splashdown, Universal Hall Pass, and Symbion Project music at CD Baby and iTunes! Or you can just comment, because I'm giving one of their CDs away each week. :)

  3. Very cool, Erika Lynn - the people who were in Splashdown are still working together on other projects - Kasson is Symbion Project and Melissa is Universal Hall Pass, and they work on each others' albums. Great stuff!

Thanks, Jenny! Can't wait to show it to you! I think we might be planning a trailer launch later this month...just saw the almost-final, and it's really cool and different!
