Someday...when the husband is out of town...he just might come home to the happy hues of beloved books...
Would you organize your books by color?
(Photo by chotda, see the artist's photostream here.)
And here's another friend, Jaime Temairik, who rainbows her books. Enjoy!
Since the clothes in my closet are organized by color, I'd have to say,"yes."
ReplyDeleteLove the picture. Thanks for sharing.
So cool!! However, I'm much to OCD about my books to organize by color. I worked in a used bookstore for seven years and now sort by author, then title. But this really is super cool!!
ReplyDeleteI once had Finn's books arranged by color, to match his rainbow bookshelf... it became a little too obsessive fairly quickly, so I made myself stop! :D
ReplyDeleteYes, I could see that! I have mine organized first by category (YA books, theory books, etc.) and then alphabetically by author. Sort of library-ish. But rainbow shelves just strike me as so devil-may-care. You never know what you might pick up.
ReplyDeleteI saw a decor magazine that showed all the books displayed spines in, so that the whole room matched the color theme. How illiterate was that interior designer?
ReplyDeleteAesthetics over literacy? That's just wrong.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there is any correlation between the subjects (or moods) and spine color? Certainly for pink books, but what about blue or yellow or black? Hmm. Might have to experiment to find out.
