Homemade Peppermint Ice Cream

That doesn't even have propylene glycol in it! (I mean, YOWSA.)

Holly's Homemade Peppermint Ice Cream
(even better than the peppermint cookies, I humbly submit)

1 quart half-n-half
1/3 c sugar
2 Tb cornstarch
3/4 c crushed peppermint
1 tsp peppermint extract
red food coloring (optional)

Whisk first three ingredients in pan and bring to boil. Add crushed peppermint. Whisk until foams and thickens. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp peppermint extract. Cool. Freeze in ice cream maker (I use my awesome Cusinart one).

YUM!!! And easy. And no chemicals. I really hate chemicals in my food.

Happy Holidays!
