NPR Best Beach Reads?

It's too late to nominate, but now you can vote in NPR's roundup of the top 100 beach reads.

NPR admits the task of narrowing the category of "beach read" wasn't easy - you'll find TWILIGHT next to UNACCUSTOMED EARTH next to THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING (one of my picks, incidentally).

What 10 will you vote for? Here are my choices from their list:
  1. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
  2. Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress
  3. Dune
  4. The Great Gatsby
  5. The Harry Potter series
  6. Murder on the Orient Express
  7. One Hundred Years of Solitude
  8. Pride and Prejudice
  9. To Kill a Mockingbird
  10. The Unbearable Lightness of Being

Which of your favorite beach reads would you have nominated?

  1. OH my goodness.

We have nearly the same list.

(and I see that my verification word is kelist)

  2. Out of all your favorites, mine is BALZAC. Loved that.

  3. I'm giddy about that, Beth. What is your list?

I loved BALZAC! Just laughed out loud for the first half and felt the story so deeply in the second. Brilliant.
