I have a really good excuse for not blogging (not that I'm one of those power bloggers anyway), but...I'm REVISING!!! Yeah, baby. NY Conference was awesome. More later. Uh, maybe.
But today, I'm celebrating March Fourth (Forth...get it, get it?), National Grammar Day with SPOGG (Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar) founder, readergirlz fellow go2girl, and upcoming author of Things That Make Us [Sic], Martha Brockenbrough.
See Jaime Temairik's Chompblog for her illustrations which appear in Things That Make Us [Sic].
A little bit about my history with Martha - I was a fan long before I actually met her. I read her hysterical pregnancy book, It Could Happen to You! plus her Encarta column. She now reviews family films for MSN Movies. Getting to be her friend is tantamount to getting to know Miss Manners or Ann Lamott (in other words, awesome in my book).
So March Forth and celebrate! If you're in the Seattle area, drop me an email and I'll tell you the location and password for the Secret SPOGG Party tonight, where we will be drinking grammartinis well into the night. Or at least, until our kids need us to come home and put them to bed.
(Full disclosure: I can take exactly zero credit for all funny puns in this post, which rightfully goes to Martha herself, witty woman of wordsmithy.)
