I've been awaiting Jay Asher's book, 13 Reasons Why, with great anticipation - and it's not out until October! Ack!
I heard about Jay's book at the SCBWI Midwinter Conference, where Razorbill president Ben Schrank talked about forthcoming YA, and was totally hooked on the premise:
Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a package with no return address lying on his porch. Inside he discovers seven cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker—his classmate and crush—who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
With Hannah's voice as his guide, Clay spends the rest of the night wandering through town, visiting places mentioned on the tapes, unearthing the thirteen reasons why Hannah chose to end her life.
Natalie in Italia won a copy of the ARC (advanced reader copy - I'm so jealous!) and wrote this great review of 13 reasons why you should read the book. I can't wait to find out for myself!
