At the behest of friend, co-conspirator, fellow writer, and Co-Regional Advisor of the Western WA SCBWI region, Sara Easterly (who really needs to get her own MySpace, ahem), I wrote an article, "A Space of One's Own: Teen Lit, MySpace, and You" to be submitted alongside her equally techno-markety article (the title of which I probably shouldn't just blurt out to all of cyberspace) to the SCBWI Bulletin, both of which were just accepted!! Woohoo!!!
So maybe, if we're lucky, these will show up in the next issue of the Bulletin. Wouldn't that be rockin'! You can also check out the next issue for Sara and Jaime Temairik's awesome graphic article on how to write a graphic novel. It's really stunning.
Thanks to Lisa Yee, Stephanie Hale, and Sara Shepard for kindly agreeing to be interviewees and for providing funny, candid, and extremely helpful input.
So it's back to Brimstone Soup for me. I'm in the final push to finish before going to the ALA Midwinter Conference tomorrow (happening in my city even as I type!). Wish I could be there now. Sometimes carsharing with my husband - as environmentally friendly and all as it is - really stinks.
