You will need:
1 lb. ground beef or lamb
1 med. onion, grated
.25 c bread crumbs or white flour
1 egg slightly beaten
1 tsp tumeric
1 tsp salt
.5 tsp pepper
1 TB lemon juice
Drain the water out of the grated onion with a paper towel or two, then mix everything up and refrigerate overnight or at room temp for a couple of hours. Cold will stick to the skewers better. Divide the mixture into 10-12 portions. Press each around a skewer and shape evenly. Place the skewers over a grill. Turn constantly, cooking each side for a few minutes. Serve with basmati rice!
